Home Inspiration: Modern Mountain Home By Studio McGee

One of my favorite pastimes is looking at homes and finding design and decor inspirations. I was so excited the other day to come across an Instagram post by Studio McGee. I quickly went to my computer and pulled up their website and started perusing. Their work is absolutely stunning! This Modern Mountain Home really caught my attention. I like sharing gorgeous home finds with you all here on the blog! If you share my affinity for home design and decor then read on! While Houston is far from mountainous, I could totally see decorating my home here like this one located outside of Park City, Utah. It’s not what you would typically think of when you think of a home in the mountains. Home Inspiration: Fashion Designer Jenni Kayne’s 1980s Haven in Beverly Hills

As I’ve scoured Houzz and Pinterest day dreaming about my own home remodel I have realized that I have saved multiple rooms from fashion designer Jenni Kayne’s Beverly Hills home . It’s absolutely gorgeous in my opinion. It’s the kind of home that says, “come in, stay a while, and relax… I absolutely love the mix of natural wood and stone with the organic, textural elements. It is all at once intimate and inviting while exuding a chic and refined vibe.  My kinda place! “The rooms have real depth, but there’s nothing fussy about them.” And, I love the subtle, not overwhelming, pops of color lightly dispersed throughout the various rooms. So, while I continue to daydream and peruse home designs for my own home remodel, I will definitely keep this stunning home in my mind as an inspiration. To see more of this gorgeous home and get more insight about the design you can head over to Architectural Digest or Savvy Home. If you could change your home’s style, what would the style be? …

The 5 Design Trends That Will Dominate This Summer

Is it heating up where you are? It is here in Houston, Texas. Truth be told, we really didn’t have much of a winter. Not even much of a Texas style winter! We had a couple of cold snaps, but they only lasted a few days at a time. Just long enough to kill the plants outside 😦 In any case, Spring has sprung already and I’m thinking about small things I can do around my house to spruce it up. One of the easiest ways to do this is simply with home decor items and accessories. Out with the old, in with the new! Doesn’t have to be a major overhaul or even a major expense! I ran across an article on My Domaine called “West Elm Has Spoken: These 5 Trends Will Blow Up This Summer.” I love West Elm’s clean, modern style and infusion of textural elements as well as their reasonable price points that you can blend with the other “more expensive” things in your home, so I thought I’d give …
