Favorite Things: Body Nutritive Serum and Tan Towels Self Tanner

Hi friends! How was your weekend? Is it a beautiful day where you are? It is here in Houston. My pool is calling my name. It looks so inviting, but unfortunately the water temp is still just a little too cool for my liking. These cool nights and mornings really cooled the water down. Though my kiddos did get in and swim yesterday afternoon. I’m pretty sure it won’t be long now before the water’s warm enough for me to put on my swimsuit and jump in and join them!

Of course I am a little less than tan right now, though I do occasionally treat myself to organic spray tans from Spre Airbrushed Tanning here in Houston. While I like to practice safe sun exposure by using sunscreen I still like to get a little color! I don’t want to blind people with my “whiteness” and a tan always makes you look a little thinner. Who wouldn’t want that?! Which brings me to the first of “My Favorite Things” today. Just Natural’s Body Nutritive Serum ($33).

Let me preface by saying, I’m pretty fair-skinned, but I can get a tan, although it takes a while. And, I don’t want to spend hours in the sun trying to achieve golden goddess status and killing off what little collagen I have left! I kept seeing pins for this product on Pinterest last year claiming that the Nutritive Serum would help you to achieve a golden sun kissed tan in less time! Even fair-skinned maidens like myself. What the what! AND it contains good for you ingredients! Where do I sign up!?!

I first ordered and tried the serum last summer and couldn’t wait to start using it. Here’s what they say:

First off, it smells amazing. Secondly, it felt great on my skin! My skin tends to be dry and once I started using this I didn’t feel so dry all the time and I’m pretty sure it helped my aging skin look better.

As for the help with tanning, I think it did a little.  It’s hard to say… Nonetheless, this is definitely one of My Favorite Things that I will continue to use. Oh, and another thing, I’m pretty sure that it deters mosquitos! It must be some of those natural citrus oils. They don’t bother me when I have this on even if everyone else is getting bitten! Yea! No more chemical-laden, stinky Off!

Second up is Tan Towels! I think there is a theme going here in this post.

Again, in my quest to have a little color I present you with Tan Towels. I was first introduced to Tan Towels a few years ago by a friend who, like me, is fair-skinned, but seemed to maintain a little color year round. Her secret was the Tan Towels! I love using them to get a little color going and even once I have gotten a little color the natural way using them will kick it up a notch! Woo hoo! One application gives a decent amount of color, but I usually like to do a second application 1 or 2 days following the first just to get a little darker.
